Based in Dante Pazzanese Institute of Cardiology (IDPC), an institution associated to the University of São Paulo (USP), this PhD program (USP/IDPC) was approved by CAPES (grade 4) on November 2006, and has started its activities on March 2007.
The program targets physicians with specialization in the Cardiovascular field; bioengineers; physicists; mathematicians; technicians; biologists; biochemical engineers and pharmacists, with proven scientific initiation in the mentioned field, in order to generate knowledge, technology and highly qualified teaching aptitude, to supply the cardiovascular research field with professionals with recognized knowledge.
This PhD program capacitates highly qualified scientists to investigate the etiopathogenic mechanisms and physiopathology of cardiovascular diseases, mastering the technological concepts in order to develop novel diagnostic methods, equipment and cardiovascular devices for the efficacious, safety and cost-effective approach of these pathologies.
The knowledge and application of Intervention and Technology in Cardiovascular Medicine aims to contribute to the achievement of health and social well-being of our population, who will naturally benefit of these developments.
