The Graduate Program in Nuclear Technology from the Nuclear and Energy Research Institute - IPEN aims at training researchers at the master and doctoral degrees in the fields of Nuclear Technology and related areas, with the scientific improvement of the graduates in several graduate courses. The program is linked to the Graduate Program of University of São Paulo, through Ordinance USP in 905 of 16/03/1976 and is recommended by the Ministry of Education and Culture - MEC through the Federal government coordination for higher education evaluation - CAPES. It has three areas of concentration: Applications (TNA), Materials (TNM) and Reactors (TNR). On average, there are 700 students enrolled in master and doctoral programs. More than 180 scholarships are offered by institutions and funding agencies like FAPESP, CNPq, CAPES, CNEN and IPEN. The number of advisors and professors in the Program is around 150 offering about 70 courses per year.
Between 1976 and 2014 the program reached the milestone of over 2,200 dissertations and theses. The program also offers elective disciplines for undergraduate students at USP and scholarships from the Education Improvement Program (PAE) for graduate students seeking their participation in educational activities.
