The Pediatric Post-Graduation program at Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo (FMUSP) aims to train and develop professors and research staff in children’s health, from the fetal period to adolescence, considering the socioeconomic environment, cultural and biological influences. In this regard, the program possesses infrastructure for population-based, clinical, laboratory and experimental research studies, using modern equipment.
The aims of the Post-Graduation program are to enhance the knowledge regarding children and adolescent’s health to produce publications in relevant scientific journals with high impact factor, thus turning FMUSP Pediatric Department into an excellent source of scientific knowledge. Since it was founded in the nineteen seventies, the program has been receiving excellent considerations. Since then, the program has developed, including internationalization, exchange student programs in Brazil and other countries, invitations of foreign professors and give full support to our professors to visit relevant international institutions.
This program was ranked 5 by CAPES (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior) which is a government agency linked to the Brazilian Ministry of Education to promote excellency in post-graduate courses in Brazil.
