The Post-Graduate Program in Pathology, Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo (FMRP/USP) aims to train researchers and qualified Professors of Pathology. It was created in 1977, initially only with the "Human Pathology" option, ie aimed for physicians specialized in pathology. In 1993 was created the "Experimental Pathology" option, intended for non-medical professionals of biological and health fields that have general pathology course in their curricula. The program has three lines of research: Neoplastic Pathology (Biopathology of Cancer), non Neoplastic Diseases (Inflammatory Processes and Pathogenic Tissue Response) and Forensic Pathology.
