The ICB-USP Graduate Program in Immunology has the goal of training MSc and PhD students, providing a solid foundation for research and teaching in the field of Immunology. During the Master degree, it is expected that the students develop original and experimental research projects and attend a series of courses that provide general and updated knowledge in Immunology. As for PhD students, it is expected that their research should not be limited to methodological or descriptive studies, but contributes to advances in knowledge of the molecular mechanisms that control the immune response.

The quality of scientific training of our graduates can be amply demonstrated by the nucleation that these professionals have established throughout Brazil and abroad. In addition, the program also prepares students to work in different segments of the private sector. One of the goals of our program is to increasingly encourage internationalization of our students and supervisors.

We do that by a) inviting foreign researchers of very high scientific reputation to the ICB-USP for courses and conferences; b) financially supporting the attendance of graduate students to conferences and internships abroad; c) improving our ability to attract foreign students to our Program; d) and promoting international scientific events with participation of our supervisors and students. Finally, one of the examples of our quality to train PhD students, which make us very proud, is our performance at the CAPES THESIS AWARD. Our program has twice received the CAPES AWARD of Biological III Area, where we operate, and three commendations.
