The Post-graduation Program in Speech Pathology and Audiology – Concentration Area of Processes and Communication Disorders develops didactic activities and research focused on communication and the oral functions, and in its interrelationship with other sciences, so as to provide the teacher/researcher with a high level of academic competence for higher education and for the production and dissemination of knowledge and advanced clinical practices, respecting the scientific and ethical rigor.
The program has projects in the following research lines: Hearing Processes and Disorders, Language Processes and Disorders, Voice Processes and Disorders, Speech and Orofacial Functions, as well as Telehealth in Speech Pathology and Audiology. Such projects reflect aspects of health promotion, prevention, diagnosis and rehabilitation of communication-related disorders and orofacial functions, as well as the use of information and communication technologies in these areas, subsidizing public policies actions.
The program has an infrastructure of research laboratories equipped through research grants obtained by the faculty, besides scientific-technical agreements which allow the wide scientific education of students and the technical and bibliographic production.
