The Graduate Program in Human Physiology of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences of the University of São Paulo is a world-class level program as graded by CAPES (Ministry of Education). The program offers the options of both Master and Doctoral Degrees since 1973, having given out titles to almost 700 graduate students.
The Program now includes 28 advisors with their almost 120 students which work in one or more major fields of research, namely Biophysics, Neurophysiology, Endocrinology, Cardiovascular Physiology, Kidney Physiology, Respiratory Physiology and Cellular Physiology. The research projects usually approach the molecular, cellular and systemic aspects of major questions in Medicine and Human Physiology, aiming at the knowledge of the functional organization of body functions.
