The Plant Physiology and Biochemistry post-graduate course was started in 1988 and has since been training professionals in the area .The goal is to create highly qualified human resources for researching  and teaching, with emphasis on the physiological, biochemical and molecular processes involved in plant development.

Research lines: a) Plant anatomy and development; b) Biochemistry and plant molecular biology; and c) Plant physiology.

Enrollment dates: Msc and PhD candidates: 1-31 March (for semester 2) and 1-31 August (for semester 1 the following year).

Courses offered are full-time Masters (by research, 28 months) and PhD (48 or 56 months).
