The Drugs and Medicines Post-Graduation Program of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences,University of São Paulo (FCF-USP) was established in 1978 and it was accredited in 01.01.85 by the Federal Council of Education, initially at master (M.Sc.) level. The doctoral (Ph.D.)course was designed in 1986 and it began its accomplishments in 1987. It was the second program installed in Brazil in the area of Drugs and Medicines,and it is characterized by the high level of nucleation, by the relationship with productive sector and by the expressive returns to society.
By the year 2013, the Program post-graduated over 300 masters and 170 doctors. The Drugs and Medicines Post-Graduation Program aims at post-graduating highly qualified human resources to perform academic, including teaching and research carriers, and professional activities, involving the segments of drugs and cosmetics.
The Program is divided into two concentration areas: the Pharmaceutical Production and Control, encompassing drugs, medicines and cosmetics, and the Pharmaceutical Ingredients, that comprehends studies on natural active substances and drugs or compounds of synthetic origin, with potential biological activity. Our available research laboratories have adequate infrastructure to the students’ work development, as well as, their dissertations and theses, thanks to the funded projects by governmental agencies and private sector.
