The Joint Graduate Program in Statistics (PIPGEs/ICMC-USP and UFSCar-DEs) is a program with the support of two Brazilian higher education institutions. Professors from both institutions are responsible for the basic activities of teaching, researching and advising. The group of professors from UFSCar is affiliated with the Department of Statistics (UFSCar-DEs), whereas the professors from USP are affiliated with the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics (USP-ICMC-SME). The faculty members already have extensive experience in advising, comprising over 160 M.Sc. theses and over 20 Ph.D. dissertations.
The main objectives of PIPGEs consist of strengthening statistical research in Brazil through joint research, high level training of graduate students and to provide opportunities for professionals to develop activities related to research , technological development and teaching.
