We offer courses leading to the degree of Masters of Science (lasting 2-3 years) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)  (3-4 years) for medical and non-medical graduates. Our goal is to train students to assume different positions: 

• Active researchers in academy and in research and development in private companies; 
• Professors of public and private universities; 
• Professionals with skills in critical evaluation of research results and their applicability in their daily professional activity; 
• Professionals committed to the improvement of public health considering that infectious diseases still have a great social impact in our country.

We are endeavored to give our students a rich academic experience with a solid theoretical background, and an opportunity to develop high-level scientific research. Our goal is to broaden the horizons of our graduate students in any field they pursue. We have four major lines of research and supervisors in each of them: 

• Evaluation of the dynamics of transmission of infectious agents; 
• evelopment, standardization and analysis of techniques for identifying agents; 
• Intervention strategies for the management, control and prevention of infectious diseases;
