The Postgraduate Program at the Faculty of Law of the University of São Paulo (FDUSP) was created in 1969 based on the guidelines set forth in the Sucupira Report. By 2014, forty-five years after its inception, it has established itself as a nationally and internationally known powerhouse of legal knowledge. It has pledged to maintainand strengthenthe Program´scommitment to establish a standard of excellence. This has been accomplished through constant action and innovative intervention, both regarding the adequate selection of the student bodyand the implementation of internationalization initiatives that have achieved increasingly positive results.

In order to promote and support scientific research in legal and other areas, the Postgraduate Program at FDUSP is establishing and strengthening its ties of cooperation through international, inter-institutional, and national projects. In this context, it has developed and consolidated its commitment to interdisciplinary research, which incorporates the efforts of professors and students who often come from different backgrounds. Thus, the Program upholds the belief that the elaboration, interpretation and enforcement of legal norms must take into consideration the various aspects of social reality
