The stricto sensu postgraduate course, for Master and PhD degrees, of the Department of Surgery and Anatomy of the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo, whose the main objective is to educate graduate students as
future teachers and researchers was initiated in 1971. Currently a student may enroll in two main areas of concentration, Surgery or Morphology and Experimental Medicine.
