The History of the Graduate Program in Communication Sciences (PPGCOM) at the School of Communication and Arts (ECA),University of São Paulo (USP) stands out as ground-breaking and inaugurates with creation of the first Graduate Program - Master in Communication in Brazil, on January 8th, 1972. On August 1st, 1980 a Doctoral Program in Communication Sciences is launched as the consolidation of the undergraduate and graduate (MSc and PhD) programs at USP. Program currently is organized in the following structure of concentration areas and research lines:

- Information and Mediation in Social Practices
